Dear
Hannah,
You did not
fool us yesterday.
You really
did come.
Thus comes
for real
My poetic
welcome.
Any
anecdotes
To share
with us?
Any
recollection
About how
you shaped up?
How far
shall we go
To trace
your pedigree?
How deep
shall we divulge
Into the
realm of intimacy?
Once upon a
time,
A long time
ago,
In the
beginning,
There was
Singularity.
Its violent
explosion set off
The ticking
of our time,
The
expansion of our space,
The cooling
of the cosmos.
Let there be
light,
And there
was light.
Let there be
galaxies,
And there
were galaxies.
Let there be
Milk Way,
And there
was Milk Way.
Let there be
star Sun,
And there
was star Sun.
Let there be
planet Earth,
And there
was planet Earth.
Let there be
a large Moon,
And there
was a large Moon.
Let there
be plenty of water,
And there
was plenty of water.
Let there be
life everywhere,
And there
was life everywhere.
Let there be
man,
And there
was man.
Let there be
woman,
And there
was woman.
Let there be
Hannah,
And there
was ....
Which
Hannah?
Prophet
Samuel's Mom?
No!
You!
Hannah
Wang
Who
landed on a no-man’s island
In a stormy
night.
You were
like the legendary Robinson,
Staying
solitary for three quarters,
But food was
amply supplied,
Waste was
cleanly removed.
Nothing was
out of the ordinary,
Only
programmed events,
Dictated by
the blueprint,
Were
unfolding in the pampered milieu.
The
blackened billowy clouds
Threatened
to gather a storm.
But the
storm failed
To wash you
ashore.
While Arafat
was cornered unwillingly
In his
dungeon under blackout,
You were
delivered in shouting (and) joy
To this
world of light.
Now it is
your turn
To write
history
Of your
own
And your
generation.
