Dear Heavenly Father,

 

Darkness appears reigning

In this time of difficulties

When pain continues its gripping

Of the already frail bodies.

 

May we bring a petition

For a pair of elderly Christians?

Both Profs. Gong and Fang

Are suffering dizzying pains.

 

Oh Lord God, you understand the Gongs

Unlike any of us who is well.

The Crucifix that nailed your Son

Climaxed pain unparalleled.

 

Shower upon them your mercy of healing,

Oh Lord God, our mighty fortress;

Rid them of the cancerous growths within

And deliver them out of distress.

 

Inject into their hearts a dose of peace,

A peace that will not quiver;

Irradiate them with your hope of blessedness,

A hope that will not shiver.

 

Walk with them, Oh Lord God,

For the valley is dark;

Carry them through, Oh Lord God,

For the time is hard.
